As I was sitting on my porch last night watching the sun set I reflected on my day that was. While much happened the highlight of my day was three conversations I had with friends, NACFM friends.
In the conversations we caught up a little, we laughed a little, we encouraged each other a little, and we…
I reflected on how much those friendships mean to me. Years back I met each of them not knowing what time as friends would bring. I know now that they are friends I thank God for.
They are friends I can tell anything to. They are friends I care deeply for. They are friends I celebrate with and hurt with. They are friends I pray with and for. They are friends who do the same for me.
My NACFM friends are kindred spirits as well. They do what I do. They know what an average day is like for me. They know the challenges I face. They know what’s it’s like to be on call 24/7. They share the struggle of the juggle (balance family with work). They are me.
I can’t place a value on someone who gets me and loves me and shares life with me. For that I just do not have the words. I can however place a value on how I came to know them, through the NACFM. I have so much I am thankful for as a member of the NACFM but there is no question the greatest value I get from being an active member are friendships, lifelong!
You need a someone to talk to and laugh with, someone to confide in, someone to hurt with you, or someone to pray with you? Look to your friends of the NACFM.
